NEW PICTURES SORRY BUT ITS SOLD I have reluctantly soldl my Grey 1970 1.6i V-Tec Honda Mini I don't want to sell it but I have no choice now. Some one will love this. V5 (shows 998cc) + MOT June 21st 2010 So, its a nice looking old 1970 Austin Mini, Big wheels, Arches, 6 point roll cage and nice exhaust pipe. Looks standard enough with normal round nose front end. Probably something you would see regularly with a 1000 or 1275 or even 1340cc 105bhp Austin engine - Right? Wrong, this mean machine has been fitted with a 1600cc twin over head cam 16 Valve multi point fuel injected Honda V-Tec Engine + 5 speed Honda Gearbox. Uprated suspension, brakes space frame front end with fibreglass bonnet and front wings. Enough? No. Has 2" bore straight though exhaust and K&N air filter, DTA S40 ECU (brain) which you can change everything. The ECU can be remapped using a Laptop - software and connector (all included) Can change fuel, timing, V-Tec, RPM limits, the whole lot. Doesn't matter if you make a mistake just replace the original program from the backup. If you gain power then keep the settings, or do as I did and take it to an expert. Car bodywork, mechanics and electrics are all in good working order. Some of the technical stuff. 2 piece FibreGlass front End + Mini miglia arches all spayed Rover Storm Grey - Black Roof MiniTec Subframe http://www.superfastminis.com/MTB2MINI.htmRoad Tax Excempt - yes I just taxed it for 1 year- FREE New June 2010 MOT, passed with flying colours Recent full service inc New Cam belt + Pulleys etc - have receipts etc New battery box welded in Car was originally built by Wes Bunes - Mini enthusiast but he emigrated last year so I got it!! also have the build pictures (see web link below for samle pix) and parts receipts too. Body work good (No rust etc) I have checked everywhere Honda Engine - 5 speed G/Box excellent, no leaks, knocks, smoke etc Honda engines are better than the Vauxhall engines in Minis as the Honda engine is lighter and the V-Tec is great fun. Basically it revs to 5500 then all hell brakes loose until the limit of 8600 rpm. (you van change when the V-Tec comes in) Engine +GBox fitted into MINITec Frame (imported from USA) Drive shafts were specially welded although I still have a set of the one piece (MTB) that will fit(suitable to 400bhp) Just fitted Set of Aliminium Billet Polyuethane Engine mounts from USA to stop engine movement and wheel hop when wheels spin) 2" straight through exhaust - with Lamder sensor adaptor for dyno runs DTA S40 Pro ECU remapped by Interpro Automotive 174BHP Have all the wiring diagrams etc Brakes Metro Turbo 4 pot calipers + discs New rear brake cylinders + shoes Suspension fitted GAZ rear dampers and hi/low trumpets - 1.5% neg camber brackets 6 point roll cage radio/cd player All electrics good - there power is cut off switch under dash Garaged - cleaned and looked after

Any questions just E mail me mike@solenoidvalvesuk.com No idiots please - test drive available by me to anyone who is serious. Location Bristol Stacks of receipts Lots of Technical stuff, manuals etc, laptop PC for remapping ECU with several Maps - road - drag etc. Goes like a stabbed rocket powered Rat on speed If you look on the 16v mini ownrs forum, nothing can beat a 16v mini except another 16v mini!! THE 1970 AUSTIN MINI 1.6VTI 16V DOHC 173BHP HONDA POWER Previous owner Wes Bunes - 16v V-TEC Mini enthusiasts will know him well. The Mini at Santa Pod before I bought it. Inside the car The Mini run at Santa Pod same run from outside The Wesley Bunes Mini V-Tec Build (Previous Owner/Builder) The power curve on this was more like a flagpole as used at Santa Pod (see above) So we flattened it out to use on the road. Listen for the V-Tec kick in at the end it blows the exhaust vent away. Took the boys out from the office. 20 to 80MPH happens fast. It needed 2 fat blokes in the front to keep the wheels down!! This run was before we remapped the ECU to flatten the power curve out. The first part is boring its after the sun and roundabout that it gets going!! Due to demand new pictures as requested. Taken Saterday 8th August. Started FIRST crack after more than 2 weeks in my Garage!! |
