Dear Michael Surname,

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your recent email correspondence.
Firstly thank for forwarding this email to us we really appreciate it.
From reading the email you received I can see that you were addressed as 'Dear paypal member’.
Please be advised that PayPal will always address you as ‘Dear Michael Surname" therefore as you are already aware the email
you received is a phishing email. Phishing emails are fake emails that attempt to collect your personal and financial information.
These individuals send hundreds of these emails to random email addresses and often contain a link to illegitimate (phishing)
websites that encourage you to enter personal information (for example, credit card numbers, passport or driver’s licence number, and account passwords).

Your obviously educated regarding phishing emails, however I would like to mention that you’ll know that an email is ‘not’ from PayPal when:

1. The email uses a generic greeting like ‘Dear user’, ‘Dear PayPal Client’ or ‘Hello, PayPal member.’
2. We always address you by your first name and last name or the business name on your PayPal account i.e. 'Dear Michael Surname'.
3. The email requests financial and other personal information. For example, an email from PayPal never asks for the numbers of your bank
account, debit or credit card, or driver’s license.
4. We also don’t request your email addresses, your full name, your account password, or the answers to your PayPal security questions.
5. The email includes an attachment, a software update to install on your computer, or a hyperlink.
In future if you think you have received a fraudulent email you can forward it to spoof@paypal.com and we will let you know if it is authentic or not.

Also, you can click ‘Safety Advice’ at the top of any PayPal page to learn more about phishing and online safety.

I hope this information has been of assistance to you and thanks for your support against these individuals.

Yours sincerely,
Stephen
